NIREUS S.A. was established in 1988 on the island of Chios, mainly concerned with aquaculture. During the decade 1990-2000 significant buy-outs and mergers took place, fulfilling the management's vision of a large Europe-wide food company. Today, the NIREUS Group numbers twenty-two (22) companies and is one of the largest Greek food companies.
